In order to achieve our broader objectives, structural and policy reforms had to be undertaken based on our Strategic Plan (2013 -2026). Reforms include redefining our mandate in terms of vision, mission and values statement. We are determined and committed towards the implementations of this Five Years Strategic Plan.
Since its establishment, SCSA has played a central role in ensuring that people in rural areas have access to basic social services particularly access to better and equitable education, health services, safe water and support sports for youth. In addition, SCSA promotes economic empowerment among women and youth groups and protecting environment.
We are proud to have contributed in creating an enabling environment for access to better education services among children living in rural areas especially orphans and most vulnerable school children (OVCs/MVCs).
SCSA have been leading toengage communities in improving their own health with main focus on promoting campaigns in HIV/AIDS, malaria and diarrhoea.
SCSA recognizes the importance of youth as a vulnerable group which deserves targeted initiatives to empower them through sports by promoting their sport talents, improve their physical health and general wellbeing. Besides SCSApromoting sports for youth, the sports create employment, bring youth groups together to build them with unity and solidarity and reduce the chances of HIV/AIDS infections and drugs addiction.
To increase access to clean and safe water to rural communities, SCSA supports rural communities paying much attention to women and children who suffer most spending much time searching for water and effects from waterborne diseases such as diarrhoea, typhoid, etc.
To promote economic empowerment among women and youth, SCSA organizes trainings for youth and womento provide them with necessary entrepreneurship skills and also provides funds as grants to emerging youth and women entrepreneurs to boost their economic activities.
SCSA contributes in promoting environmental conservation and protection by raising awareness among policy makers and citizens for the benefit of the current and the future generation. SCSA encourages the community to protect environment by using biogas for cooking and lighting as an alternative source of energy instead of cutting trees for charcoals.
